Makers of Nairobi Half Life Honoured by Africa's Ray William Johnson


airobi Half Life has won praise from festivals to the cinemas. Now the film has been featured on What's Up Africa, a videoblog that showcases the week's highlight in pop culture.
What's Up Africa is hosted by Ikenna Azuike, who has been described as Africa's version of Ray William Johnson. In the 72nd episode, Ike talks about Israel's foreign policy and its treatment of Sudanese immigrants. He also features SA President Jacob Zuma and Julius Malema as Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.
In his last segment titled "A Person or People Doing Awesome Sh*t!", he lauds the makers of Nairobi Half Life, specifically the director, Tosh Gitonga, and plays a clip from the film. NHL was picked after WUA's Facebook fans voted for it. The recognition comes after the film became Kenya's first official entry to the Academy Awards.
